Chuck's House is a local ministry of CMU begun in 2011 to serve greater Montgomery AL.
After founder and director Chuck Conner passed away, his old home - located on the family farm -- was turned into a bunkhouse.
Now, CMU is able to host mission teams who come to serve the surrounding area (churches and ministries) through various service projects. The goal of Chuck's House is to give mission teams an affordable yet impactful alternative to international mission trips.
Chuck’s House is also the site of worship workshops for student praise bands. These are conducted by Chuck III and some of the talented musicians and worship leaders he works with in the Central Alabama area.
All in all Chuck’s House has turned into a wonderful place for people to plug in and get involved in home mission projects – giving CMU an avenue to do missions right here in its own backyard.
Past projects have included:
- Supporting Common Ground – helping complete their annex as well as working on their surrounding properties.
- Coming alongside and serving the community with “Strong Tower”, a community church who meet in the Common Ground ministry center.
- Chuck’s House teams also work with House-to-House which is a ministry spawned out of Common Ground. The majority of this work involves the construction and restoration of houses in the community.
- In addition, CMU is currently helping local churches with service projects, meeting physical needs and pouring into the membership spiritually by holding discipleship classes and conducting revivals.
